Are you keeping your Heart?

Proverbs, 4:23 admonishes us to keep our hearts with all diligence for out it flows the issues of life. Are you guarding your heart from wrong or evil company? Are you guarding your heart from worldly music and songs? Are you guarding your heart from the craze to acquire wealth and status through whatever means? Dear believer, protect your heart and let Christ be your focus and not the world. There is so much garbage, so much negativity and so much godlessness but we need to continue to keeping our hearts with all of our might and strength until the end. Christ is our rewarder and He will reward us. He says, I coming soon and my reward is in my hands to give to every man according to His works.

Desire for our Generation

For a fact, I see today’s Christianity as a deviation from what our ancient fathers practiced and professed. The more I study about our ancient fathers of Christianity and how they walked with the Lord, the more I lose interest in what our pulpits profess today. Ancient fathers like Thomas Kempis, Bro. Lawrence, George Fox, John Calvin and William Law experienced great fellowship with our Lord and exerted so much authority and power of the Holy Spirit. These people focused on the interior life, salvation, holiness, meditation, prayer and communion with the Lord. In our days, the focus has been on prosperity and how we can use faith to achieve whatever we want. Our idea of heaven has diminished and we are more into making ourselves happy and satisfying our egos. These ancient fathers studied, practiced and professed to be unknown for the glorification of Christ. We are more concerned about outward appearance and worldly achievements. We are in a hurry to pray, read scriptures so we can express our ‘knowledge’ of God while we know little of Him. Richard Foster states emphatically that in our contemporary society, our adversary majors in three things: noise, hurry and crowds. If he can keep us in “muchness” and “manyness” he will rest satisfied. Their main focus was on Christ and constant fellowship with the lord. They gave less time to the material things of the world and the devil because they were men and women who have surrendered their lives to Christ and from within them full of Christ for His purpose. In our time, there is constant appeal and fight to achieve something and fight against the ‘devil’ and his evil cohorts while within us, the greatest enemy of self has not been dealt with. Our churches are filled with unconverted and half converted people who proclaim to be Christians. We are constantly praying against the activities of the devil and how to make our lives better in this world but what do we see, less of God’s power because people who profess to know God are only honoring Him with their lips.  These ancient fathers, gave their whole life to Christ and dedicated themselves to the study of scriptures, prayer and communion with the Lord not to go and preach or satisfy their ego but to draw closer to Christ. We see in our times, the rush to read as many scriptures as possible not because we want to be filled with them but to satisfy our egos and boast about how much we have read and not how much we have been converted. May we go back to the old paths of our fathers, dedicate our lives to Christ, shun the material world, seek Christ and everything about Him. The so called ‘Christian’ jams or praise full of noise to satisfy our worldly desires, revivals that do not change anything, so called powerful word that has not converted a single fly must give way to true conversion, desire to know Christ and Him ONLY, the desire to seek His wisdom and knowledge not be seen but to remain unknown. We as a generation cry unto you oh God, help us to seek you and journey on the old path as our ancient fathers did. Maranatha!

Deeper Life

God’s word encourages us to launch into the deep because shallow walk with Him does not allow the believer to experience the fullness he/she has been called to experience. It does not give the believer the ability to impact his generation that God has intended. Richard Foster in his book, “celebration of discipline”, stated that the doctrine of instant satisfaction is a primary problem for our generation. The desperate need today is not for a greater number of intelligent people, or gifted people, but for deep people. Are you growing deeper in the Lord? In His word and fellowship? This is a call to deeper life for deeper impact to our generation. Launch into the deep!!!.

Allow Yourself to Grow: A Cry to the Young Generation

The foundation of society and our generation is the family. A strong family system yields a strong nation and a stronger church. Without the family the church will struggle in its quests to change mankind. That is why God places high premium on the relationship between the family and Church. The attack of the enemy on the family and relationships is an attack on the Church. Young Christian friend, the enemy is destroying lives at tender ages through ungodly relationships and friendships. You, as a young man or woman must allow yourself to grow spiritually, physically, emotionally, intellectually etc. The rush into relationships has led many into ungodly relationships and sexual activities which is rubbing many young people from been fully prepared for marriage and family life. At quite tender ages, many young people have experiences so many heart breaks, emotional tortures and breakdowns because they rush and found themselves in wrong relationships which they thought will give them the satisfaction they needed. Satisfaction is only in Christ Jesus!. This has robbed many marriages of goodness because partners did not allow themselves to grow. Many are battling their past and the lack of time to grow. This, the enemy is using to cause so much confusion in marriages and churches. Young man and woman, surrender to Jesus and allow Him to mold you into the man and woman He wants you to be. Flee from this deception and embrace Jesus. Ask the Lord to free you from your past and use His blood to cleanse and make you anew. With God all things are possible. May the Lord strengthen our generation to seek Him so we can become the men and women He wants us to be. Blessed be Jesus!

Have We Lowered The Standard?

If Serving Tables during the days of the Apostles required Men with Honest Report, Full of the Holy Spirit and Wisdom, What should be the requirement today for Ministers of God? Elders? Teachers? Group Leaders? Worship Leaders? Have we lowered the standard in our time? is that the reason why there is so little of God's power in our midst? We need to rise and strengthen what remains. O God help us to go back to the old path. To seek you in prayer and truth

Do Not Rush to be Known, Go through the Mill

The rush to stardom and to be seen is taking many young believers into spiritual quagmire. It has become a norm and a must that so far as I can do something, I must be given the chance to do it. Anyone who stands on my way is an anti-Christ. The moment a Christian experiences and exercises one form of spiritual gift or the other then they start demanding a stage or pulpit to sing, preach or even lead prayer. No one wants to wait, no one wants to go through the mill to be refined and prepared for the Masters use. No one wonder there is so much vices in our church today. Many young Christians and believers are committing serious blunders and bringing the name of Christ into disrepute because they could not wait and go through the mill. Many have stopped their churches because they are not been given the stage or pulpit to use their gift. There are many pulpits not only in the church but at the market places, local transports or even open air at dawn. I spent a lot of time preaching in public transport and open air (dawn) to carry the message of Christ across. Do not quit your church because there is no stage or pulpit for you but with patience, prayer and preparation your light will shine and no one can stop it. Apostle Paul spent fourteen years in Arabia when he had an encounter with our Lord. How long are you willing to wait to be prepared by the Lord? Thomas Kempis states that the greatest desire of the believer is to crave to be unknown and considered as nothing. Are u willing to be humbled to be unknown and considered as nothing? Christ is our Example…

The Gospel

The Gospel we received was not a gospel of eating and drinking nor was it for our happiness. The Apostles never preached for people to recite a few words to be Christians. The Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ is not about receiving Christ and being the same. The core message of our Gospel is about REPENTANCE, embracing CHRIST and Walking CONTINUALLY in His steps. We find in our churches today many people who call themselves Christians but are living just like the world. God cannot be mocked and judgement will start from the Church. Are you saved? Are you still living your old life while you call yourself a Christian? Being born into a Christian home does not make you a Christian neither been given a Christian name will make you one. Repent! And accept the Father’s gift of Christ and walk continually in His word. Jesus is Coming Soon!
